The Football Association is reportedly putting together a plan which could see 20,000 supporters attend the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in August.

The Football Association is allegedly open to exploring the possibility of having supporters attend the FA Cup final in August.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the remainder of the 2019-20 Premier League campaign will be played behind closed doors, while the start of next season is expected to follow the same trend.

However, according to The Mirror, English football's governing body is prepared to entertain the idea of having 20,000 fans sit in Wembley Stadium in August.

While the implementation of such an elaborate plan would be based on health advice, stadium officials are said to be optimistic over being able to safety welcome supporters from opposing clubs to the national stadium.

As it stands, the four quarter-finals will be staged at the end of June, with the final currently pencilled in for August 1.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester City, Newcastle United, Sheffield United and Norwich City all remain in the competition.
