Fred and Jadon Sancho are named in the Manchester United side for Thursday's Europa League knockout round playoff second leg with Barcelona.

Fred and Jadon Sancho have both been named in the Manchester United side for Thursday's Europa League knockout round playoff second leg with Barcelona.

The tie is delicately poised following a 2-2 draw in the first leg last week, and Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag has selected close to the same XI that took to the field for the first whistle at Camp Nou.

The only change comes at the back, where Lisandro Martinez features after missing the reverse match due to a European suspension.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is preferred to Diogo Dalot at right-back, with Luke Shaw moving across to the left.

Meanwhile, Fred is given the nod over Marcel Sabitzer and Scott McTominay in central midfield.

Antony is back from a muscular problem, but Sancho will again feature in the final third of the field, with Wout Weghorst expected to play as the number 10 behind leading goalscorer Marcus Rashford.

Bruno Fernandes will again captain the 20-time English champions, with Harry Maguire on a strong bench that also includes Dalot, McTominay, Sabitzer, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.

Man United XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Fred; Fernandes, Weghorst, Sancho; Rashford

Subs: Heaton, Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Mainoo, McTominay, Pellistri, Sabitzer, Antony, Elanga, Garnacho
