A place in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup is on the line when Manchester United welcome League One outfit Charlton Athletic to Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup after a 3-1 success over Everton on Friday night, while the Addicks overcame Lincoln City 2-1 in the third tier last time out.

We say: Manchester United 2-0 Charlton Athletic

Discovering a taste for goals and affinity for clean sheets during the winter period, even a second-string Man United side should experience few obstacles en route to a place in the semi-finals.

One can expect the visitors to set up defensively amid their propensity to ship goals away from home, but Ten Hag's men can still expect to seal their place in the final four with minimal fuss.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Newcastle vs. Leicester (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

Newcastle United will be hoping to bounce back from their FA Cup exit last time out by progressing to the EFL Cup semi-finals on Tuesday night.

The Magpies host Leicester City at St. James' Park, a team that they comfortably dispatched of on Boxing Day, running out 3-0 winners in the Premier League.

We say: Newcastle United 1-0 Leicester City

Newcastle comfortably dispatched of Leicester in their last match, so they should have enough about them to secure another victory on home soil, although it is likely to be by a narrow margin.

The Magpies have not scored many goals in recent weeks, but the last time Chris Wood scored was against Leicester, so the 31-year-old will be full of confidence, should he get the nod over the likes of Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
