Robin van Persie lauds vision of Wayne Rooney for winning goal against Cluj

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has hailed the vision of Wayne Rooney after the pair combined to deadly effect against Cluj.

After falling being in Romania to an early goal United recovered to take all three points thanks to a brace from Van Persie.

The Dutchman insisted that Rooney deserved the credit for a superb assist for the winning goal.

Van Persie told ITV Sport: "Everything starts with a good pass so I have to thank him, not many players can give a pass like that.

"It was good build-up play, and when it came to him I knew that he can see that pass and actually give it exactly the way I want it, so credit to Wayne."

The victory over Cluj gave Van Persie has first chance to start alongside Rooney since making the move to Old Trafford in August.
