Phil Jones to start for Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Phil Jones will start for Manchester United during their Champions League encounter with Galatasaray tomorrow night.

The 20-year-old has spent the entire on the sidelines with a combination of back and knee injuries.

However, he was deemed fit enough to be given a place on the United bench for their 1-0 defeat to Norwich City at the weekend.

He will now step up his recovery even further on Tuesday night after Ferguson told reporters in Istanbul that he intends to use the former Blackburn Rovers centre-back from the beginning.

Jones joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2011.
