Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says that there is "no doubt" that his current squad are capable of going all the way in the Champions League.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that the club are capable of winning the Champions League again during his reign at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have previously been crowned champions of Europe on three occasions - in 1968, 1999 and 2008.

Ferguson, who was the mastermind behind the latter two triumphs, believes that a personal hat-trick is attainable.

When asked if his current squad were capable of winning the European Cup again, he replied: "Oh yes, absolutely, there is no doubt about that.

"Over the last few years we have used the group stage as an opportunity to play the youngsters but last season it backfired. We changed the team too much.

"We won't be doing that again."

United were knocked out of last season's competition in December after finishing third in Group C - behind Benfica and FC Basle.
