Man United injury, suspension list vs. Young Boys

Manchester United will be looking to make the perfect start to their 2021-22 Champions League group-stage campaign when they travel to Young Boys on Tuesday night.

The 20-time English champions will enter the contest off the back of a 4-1 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring twice on his return for the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been drawn into Group F in the Champions League alongside Young Boys, Villarreal and Atalanta BC.

Scott McTominay

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: September 19 (vs. West Ham United)

Scott McTominay is already back in training after undergoing minor groin surgery, but the Scotland international will again miss out against Young Boys on Tuesday night, having not made the trip to Switzerland.


Marcus Rashford

Status: Out Type of injury: Shoulder Possible return date: Unknown

Marcus Rashford has undergone surgery to address a shoulder problem and despite returning to training, the England international is not expected to be available for selection until October.


Alex Telles

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Alex Telles injured his ankle during pre-season training; the Brazilian returned to training over the international break, but Solskjaer revealed last week that the defender is still unavailable for selection.


Edinson Cavani

Status: Out Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: September 19 (vs. West Ham United)

Solskjaer revealed on Saturday that Edinson Cavani missed out against Newcastle due to a knock that he suffered in training, and the striker will also be absent on Tuesday night.


Amad Diallo

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: Unknown

Solskjaer revealed on Saturday that Amad Diallo, who was linked with a loan move over the summer, is still around one month away from being available for selection as he battles a thigh problem.
