Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. RB Leipzig

Man United injury, suspension list vs. Leipzig

Manchester United will be looking to make it back-to-back wins at the start of their 2020-21 Champions League campaign when they welcome RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils opened their Group H challenge with an impressive 2-1 victory away to last season's Champions League finalists Paris Saint-Germain on October 20.

United will enter this match off the back of a draw, though, having shared the points with Chelsea in Saturday's Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the team's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the fixture with Leipzig, who are currently top of the Bundesliga with 13 points.

Phil Jones

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Versatile defender Phil Jones has not featured for United since January due to a long-term knee problem, and the Englishman could have played his last game for the club, having been left out of their Premier League and Champions League squads.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: November 21 (vs. West Bromwich Albion)

Eric Bailly, who has struggled with various injuries throughout his United career, is set to spend the next three to four weeks on the sidelines recovering from a muscular issue.

Jesse Lingard

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: October 28 (vs. Leipzig)

Jesse Lingard, who is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season, did not travel to Paris for last Tuesday's Champions League clash due to a knock, while he was also absent against Chelsea for the same reason. The Englishman could be available to take on Leipzig, though.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Anthony Martial was again banned for the clash with Chelsea due to a domestic suspension, but the France international is available to feature in the Champions League.
