Jack Rodwell nearing Sunderland switch?

Jack Rodwell has arrived at Sunderland's training ground for a medical ahead of his proposed move from Manchester City.

The 23-year-old midfielder is understood to have already agreed personal terms with the Black Cats.

Rodwell, who has won three caps for the England national team, is expected to sign a five-year deal at the Stadium of Light.

His switch to Sunderland is due to be completed within the next 24 hours, according to Sky Sports News.

Rodwell joined City from Everton for £12m in 2012, but a string of injuries have hampered his career at the Etihad Stadium.
