Report: Aston Villa closing in on Scott Sinclair signing

Aston Villa are reportedly closing in on the signing of Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair.

It had been reported that Villa wanted to secure the 25-year-old on loan, but according to Goal.com, a permanent deal of £2.5m is in place.

Sinclair has made just two starts for City this season and has largely struggled to make his mark at the Etihad since arriving from Swansea City in 2012.

The Englishman spent a period on loan at West Bromwich Albion last season, but struggled to produce his best form at the Hawthorns.

It is understood that Villa have beaten a host of other clubs to the signing.
