Manchester City make a £100m bid for Aston Villa and England playmaker Jack Grealish, according to a report.

Manchester City have reportedly made a £100m bid for Jack Grealish, as the Premier League champions look to sign the Aston Villa attacker during this summer's transfer window.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently said that Pep Guardiola's side were in direct talks with Villa over a move for the England international in the current market.

According to the The Telegraph, the Citizens have now made a £100m offer for Grealish, which would represent a British transfer record should Villa accept the bid.

Dean Smith's side have allegedly reopened contract talks with the playmaker in the hope of convincing him to snub interest from the Etihad Stadium to sign a new long-term deal.

The 25-year-old made five appearances for England at Euro 2020, providing assists against the Czech Republic and Germany, as the Three Lions reached the final of the competition.

Grealish had his injury problems for Villa last season but still enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring seven goals and contributing 12 assists in 27 appearances in all competitions.

Man City boss Guardiola is thought to be keen for a deal to be secured before the Community Shield against FA Cup winners Leicester City on August 7.
