Manchester City will reportedly offer Micah Richards a new four-year contract.
The defender has two years to run on his current deal, but City's director of football Txiki Begiristain is keen to tie the 24-year-old down to a further to two years, according to The Guardian.
Richards suffered a serious knee injury in the game against Swansea City in October and has been restricted to just seven appearances this season.
Richards was made captain for last week's 2-0 win away to Reading.
