Manchester City 'confident of securing deal for West Brom's Jonny Evans'

Man City 'confident of Evans deal'

Manchester City are reportedly optimistic about signing West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans.

The North-West outfit were keen to get a deal done in the summer, but two bids were rebuffed by the Baggies.

According to ESPN, City have revived their interest in the former Manchester United player and feel that they will eventually get their man, who has 18 months left on his deal at The Hawthorns.

The report adds that Everton and Arsenal have also expressed an interest, but the Premier League leaders are favourites to nab Evans's signature.

West Brom are expected to sanction the move in order to gain more funds for manager Alan Pardew to spend before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.
