Kevin De Bruyne closing in on new Manchester City deal?

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly close to penning fresh terms with the Citizens, with his new deal set to run until 2025.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly close to penning a new deal with the four-time Premier League champions.

Talks between the 29-year-old and the club have been going on for quite some time, with De Bruyne recently revealing that he is representing himself in negotiations.

The former Chelsea man still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his current deal at the Etihad Stadium, but with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain supposedly keeping tabs on his future, City are determined to tie him down as soon as possible.

Now, The Guardian reports that talks are progressing well and De Bruyne will likely put pen to paper on a new deal soon, with the Belgium international expected to stay on until 2025.

The report claims that De Bruyne can expect a small rise on the £300k per week he currently pockets in Manchester, and the two parties are simply finalising the last few details of his extension.

De Bruyne has already banked two goals and set up 11 more for City in all competitions this season, and the midfielder registered his 100th assist for the club in their 1-0 victory over Southampton at the weekend, with Raheem Sterling scoring the winner from De Bruyne's cross.
