De Bruyne: 'No rush for new City contract'

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has said that there is no rush for him to sign a new contract with the club after his agent proposed talks over a new deal at the Etihad.

De Bruyne has proven invaluable during the second year of his six-year deal, and agent Patrick de Koster wants a new deal for the 26-year-old that would resemble that of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.

The Belgian set up striker Gabriel Jesus in City's 2-1 victory over Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday following two assists in his side's 7-2 thrashing of Stoke City.

"My agent went already one time to Txiki [Begiristain, Manchester City's director of football]," De Bruyne told reporters.

"Talks are coming. I'm patient anyway, I don't stress. I think I read something in the press but I have time."

The Citizens face Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday before hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EFL Cup.
