Manchester City bring back Dedryck Boyata

Manchester City have recalled defender Dedryck Boyata from his season-long loan at FC Twente.

The 22-year-old only made eight appearances for the Dutch outfit and City feel that he may benefit from more regular football elsewhere.

A statement on City's website read: "The Belgian defender could well continue his education at another club in the coming weeks having played just eight games for Steve McClaren's side."

Boyata also spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers but could not prevent them from being relegated from the Premier League.
