Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta has announced his desire to reunite with former La Blaugrana boss Pep Guardiola at Camp Nou.
Guardiola enjoyed a trophy-laden four years with the Catalan giants between 2008 and 2012, as the Spaniard won three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues at Barca.
The 49-year-old's contract at Manchester City is set to expire next summer, and should City's two-year European ban be upheld, Guardiola may seek pastures new.
Indeed, with the Spaniard's future currently undetermined, Laporta has confirmed that he dreams of reuniting with the former Barca boss in Catalonia.
"I would very much like Guardiola to come back, but now he is at City and it is a decision that Pep should take," Laporta said in quotes attributed to the Daily Mail.
"He is a benchmark for Barcelona and many Catalans would like him to train Barca again."
Guardiola won 179 of his 247 matches in charge of La Blaugrana before departing for Bayern Munich.
