Barcelona reportedly drop their interest in Manchester City's Bernardo Silva, with Xavi set to explore other options despite being linked with Silva last summer.

Barcelona have reportedly dropped their interest in Manchester City's Bernardo Silva.

The 28-year-old has been a ;long-term target for the Spanish club, who have signed former City players Ferran Torres and Eric Garcia in recent windows.

According to Sport, Silva is longer a target for Xavi's side, despite them attempting to bring him to Camp Nou as recently as the summer window.

Silva is under contract until 2025 and is a key player for City which means any potential move for the Portugal international will surely be expensive.

Since joining City from Monaco in 2017, Silva has made 283 appearances for the Manchester club, winning four Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and an FA Cup during that time.

This season he has played 22 times for City, scoring twice and assisting five.
