Man City transfer news today: What's happening on August 24?

Manchester City have reportedly reached an agreement worth £85.6m to sign Lille teenager Ayyoub Bouaddi, a club-record sale for the French side.

The Morocco international, who shone at the World Cup and has been compared by a teammate to a blend of Patrick Vieira and Sergio Busquets, has already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.

The move follows City's decision to sell 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri to Barcelona for an initial £65.4m, with Enzo Maresca overseeing a significant rebuild of his midfield before the September 1 deadline.

Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez remains high on City's list of alternatives or additions, according to reports, with the Argentine understood to be admired by Maresca from their time together in England.

City are also believed to have made a firm decision to keep hold of playmaker Claudio Echeverri for the first half of the season, despite underwhelming loan spells at Bayer Leverkusen and Girona.

River Plate are said to be monitoring the 20-year-old's situation and could make an approach in January if he continues to struggle for game time behind Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki.
