Bernardo Silva admits to being "very happy" at seeing Manchester City stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League to 16 points, and now wants to get the job done.

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has admitted that his side 'want to win the league as fast as they can' after regaining their 16-point advantage at the top.

The Citizens moved another giant step closer to sealing a third Premier League title by overcoming Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium in Thursday night's rearranged fixture.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring for City in North London before namesake David added a second, while the third and final goal of the night would arrive a little over half an hour in through Leroy Sane.

After seeing his side record their biggest away win at Arsenal in any competition since a 4-0 triumph in November 1912, the Portuguese confessed that he cannot wait to get his hands on some more silverware.

"It was a great game for us, especially the first half," he told Sky Sports News. "We were focused. We're very happy to stay 16 points ahead of Manchester United.

"My goal was great play from Leroy. I had space on my left foot. I cut in and shot. It was a good goal I'm happy with that. We want to win the league as fast as we can."

City have now scored more Premier League goals this season (82) than they managed in the entirety of last season (80).
