Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Wolves

Manchester City will aim to take another giant step towards Premier League glory when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Wednesday evening.

After suffering Champions League semi-final heartache at the hands of Real Madrid, Pep Guardiola's side responded in perfect fashion by thumping Newcastle United 5-0.

With Liverpool dropping points in a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, City are now three points clear of the Merseyside giants, who could return to the top of the table with victory and a four-goal swing against Aston Villa on Tuesday.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Bruno Lage's men.

Kyle Walker

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Guardiola did not have any positive injury news to report after the Newcastle win, firstly announcing that the ankle injury Kyle Walker sustained against Real Madrid would keep him out for the rest of the season.

John Stones

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: Unknown

Similarly, John Stones is still in the treatment room with the muscle injury he sustained against Los Blancos, and the centre-back will also miss the final three games of the campaign.

Ruben Dias

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Guardiola's defensive crisis does not stop there, as Ruben Dias picked up another hamstring injury in the win over Newcastle and will not be available again this term.

Nathan Ake

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: May 11 (vs. Wolves)

Nathan Ake took his place on the bench for the win over Newcastle, but Guardiola has admitted that the Dutchman is carrying an ankle problem and is a doubt for the trip to Wolves, where the Catalan coach may only have one recognised centre-back in Aymeric Laporte available.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Benjamin Mendy

Possible return date: Unknown

Subject to a police charge, left-back Benjamin Mendy remains suspended by the Citizens.
