Yaya Toure hails new Manchester City signings

Yaya Toure believes that new signings Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph will provide Manchester City with a "massive boost".

Yaya Toure has backed Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph to give Manchester City a "massive boost" this season.

City recently signed Sterling from Liverpool for an English-record £49m, while Delph followed from Aston Villa for £8m.

Having relinquished the Premier League title to Chelsea last term, Toure is confident that the Blues can challenge for silverware again this season with their new additions.

"We've signed some great players this year in Sterling and Delph - we welcome them and we hope they will give us a massive boost," the midfielder is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We need to bounce back this year and to support our fans - they have supported us for long years and we want to make them proud."

City continue their pre-season tour of Australia on Friday when they face Real Madrid in Melbourne.
