Tevez agent blames mistranslation

The agent of Carlos Tevez has insisted that the striker was a victim of mistranslation over his alleged refusal to come on as a substitute during Manchester City's Champions League match with Bayern Munich.

Tevez gave a television interview after the game in Spanish in which he appeared to confirm that he refused to play.

However, his agent Kia Joorabchian claims that Tevez was mistranslated during the live interview and says he never admitted to going on strike.

"If you don't have a very professional interpreter you have a problem. The interview was incorrect," Joorabchian said.

"Both questions and answers from Carlos were interpreted incorrectly."

Tevez is currently in Argentina while he serves a two-week suspension from the club.
