Tevez: "I have been a professional"

Carlos Tevez has claimed that he has behaved like "a professional" during his time at Man City, despite the heated events in Munich tonight.

The striker refused to come on as a substitute during his side's Champions League game with Bayern Munich, prompting angry manager Roberto Mancini to say that Tevez was "finished" at the club.

Speaking through an interpreter afterwards, the Argentinian player explained that he did not feel focused enough to go onto the pitch. "I just was not feeling very good to enter mentally, so I put my opinion to [Roberto]," he said.

Asked how he felt about Mancini's suggestions that his days at Man City were now over, Tevez replied: "I think it is his decision. I have been a professional during my time here. Last season I was the best scorer. I put my opinion [over the summer] that I wanted to leave because of family reasons but that did not happen."

Man City went on to lose the game 2-0.
