Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola reveals his delight following his team's 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that he was "very happy with the new players" in Saturday's 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

A Sergio Aguero strike and Lewis Dunk own goal saw Man City overcome Premier League new boys Brighton in the late kickoff at the Falmer Stadium.

Ederson, Kyle Walker, Danilo and Bernardo Silva all made their Premier League debuts for the Citizens, and Guardiola has paid tribute to his team for opening the new season with all three points.

"We had chances in the first minutes. We have controlled the counter-attacks and we didn't concede one chance. We are going to improve the way we attack," Guardiola told BBC Sport.

"I was very happy with the new players. I want to say thank you to the club. We have huge players with lots of talent. Big congratulations to all the people in Manchester City - we are a strong club.

"I want to continue with what we did in the last three games of pre-season. We were stable but we have to try to improve. The most important thing was to win the first game."

Man City will look to make it back-to-back wins at the start of the new Premier League campaign when they welcome Ronald Koeman's new-look Everton team to the Etihad Stadium on August 21.
