Samir Nasri: 'Alvaro Negredo is signing of the season'

Samir Nasri has described Manchester City teammate Alvaro Negredo as the "signing of the season".

The striker, who joined the club from Sevilla during the summer, scored a hat-trick during the team's 6-0 victory against West Ham United in the Capital One Cup during the week.

The French international told Sky Sports News: "I think he is the signing of the season so far.

"He's scored plenty of goals, he can hold the ball, he can play, he can find the space, he's a good finisher and he works a lot. He's been really good for us, I think he is the complete striker."

City face Newcastle United on Sunday.
