Roberto Mancini's son 'refused to be substitute' in preseason

Mancini's son 'refuses to be sub'

Roberto Mancini's son, Filippo Mancini, reportedly refused to come on as a substitute in a recent Manchester City reserve match.

The 20-year-old is said to have reacted "angrily" after being told to make a late appearance in a preseason game against the Liverpool reserves less than two months ago, according to The Mirror.

Witnesses have said that the Italian swore at the Citizens' Under-21s elite developmental manager before "storming off".

Last week City star Carlos Tevez allegedly refused to be used as a substitute for Samir Nasri in the side's 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

Following the game, Mancini said Tevez was "finished" and would never suit up for the side again after the offence.

A spokesperson for the Manchester outfit has said that the City boss had not been told about the incident surrounding his son until Friday.
