Roberto Mancini claims that his Manchester City side are currently playing at a similar level to Barcelona.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that his side are currently playing at a similar level to European champions Barcelona.

The Blues are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League table and victory over Napoli on Tuesday will seal their qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League.

All of that has led Mancini to conclude that his players can compete with anyone.

"We started the season very well and this confidence is important for the team," said the Italian.

"I don't think we are better than Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, but probably we are at the same level."

City travel to Liverpool next Sunday in the Premier League.
