Laurentiis: City's owners will get bored

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has slammed Manchester City's spending power and believes that billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour will move on if the club fails to win silverware in the near future.

Roberto Mancini's side face a likely exit from the Champions League after Napoli defeated the Premier League side 2-1 at the San Paolo Stadium on Tuesday.

"I think Sheikh Mansour just wanted a toy when he bought Manchester City," said Laurentiis. "If they don't win something quickly, he could just go somewhere else and buy another toy.

"If Mansour would like to invest in Napoli he should invest as much as I did and get your team to improve and grow.

"Our success proves two things - perhaps money isn't everything, as even with balanced books you can still go far."

City's only hope of qualifying for the final 16 will be a win against Bayern Munich at the Etihad Stadium as well as a loss for Napoli against Villarreal in a fortnight.
