Stevan Jovetic: 'I was very close to joining Juventus'

Inter Milan striker Stevan Jovetic says that he was "very close" to joining Juventus while he was at Manchester City.

Inter Milan forward Stevan Jovetic has revealed that he was "very close" to joining Juventus during his time at Manchester City.

The Montenegrin is currently on an 18-month loan with Inter, but ahead of Sunday's tie with the Italian champions Jovetic has said that his agent was in talks with Juventus.

"During [Antonio] Conte's spell at the club I was very close to joining Juve," Jovetic is quoted as saying by FIFA.com.

"They called my agent and although I never spoke with Conte myself, in the end I decided to stay with City."

Jovetic has scored three goals in five appearances for his new club.
