Fernandinho was forced to miss his side's match with Chelsea on Monday evening after breaking down in training on Sunday, and manager Manuel Pellegrini revealed after the match that he expected the player to be absent for up to four weeks.
However, the Brazilian midfielder has tweeted that he hopes to be back sooner than his boss has predicted.
Good afternoon, I would like to tell you about my injury and quell rumors.— Fernandinho (@fernaoficial) February 6, 2014
I return to play in 15 days or less!
Manchester City face another match with Chelsea when the two sides meet in the FA Cup in nine days' time, before City host Barcelona in the Champions League three days later.
