Nigel de Jong requests Hatem Ben Arfa meeting

Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong has requested to meet Newcastle United forward Hatem Ben Arfa after the two sides clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

A challenge from De Jong broke Ben Arfa's leg during the fixture between the two teams in October 2010.

"The player has contacted him, which I appreciate as the manager of the other team," said Magpies boss Alan Pardew.

"We have said after the game would be a good time - not before. Hopefully, that will then come to rest."

Saturday's match sees the two remaining unbeaten sides in the Premier League come up against each other.
