Manchester City's Jack Rodwell delighted with return following injury woes

Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell has expressed his delight at completing a full 90 minutes for the club following a lengthy battle with injury.

The 22-year-old has faced a number of setbacks since moving to the Etihad Stadium from Everton last year, but managed to feature in last night's 3-1 win over Leicester City in the League Cup quarter-final.

"It felt brilliant," the Manchester Evening News. "On a personal level to get 90 minutes under my belt felt really good. I feel fit but I always feel strong. I've been working hard and try to get myself to 100 per cent as much as I can. It felt good out there.

"Whoever goes in, we have to emulate the player who played the week before. That's what we all do. We're a team and play with the same emphasis every game."

City are currently fourth in the Premier League table.
