Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini: 'Joe Hart's injury is not very serious'

Joe Hart's injury "not very serious"

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has calmed concerns over Joe Hart's injury by claiming that it is "not very serious".

The England international suffered a hamstring injury during City's 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Pablo Zabaleta has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury and should be out of action for a further 10 days.

"[Zabaleta] has the same injury in the ligament in his knee," Pellegrini told reporters. "He needs a treatment now. Joe Hart's is not a very serious injury but it is a muscle injury and it is important for him to recover well.

"I never complain about players who are injured - that is why we have a squad. I have confidence in [Hart's replacement] Willy Caballero."

City, who have suffered defeats in their last two games in all competitions, will take on Southampton on Saturday.
