Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Wolves

Manchester City will endeavour to rise to the top of the Premier League rankings when they tackle Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

The Citizens returned to action in midweek with a 2-1 Champions League success over Borussia Dortmund, as John Stones and Erling Braut Haaland cancelled out Jude Bellingham's opener.

Pep Guardiola's side find themselves one point adrift of Premier League leaders Arsenal, and a draw would be enough to see them rise to the summit before the Gunners take on Brentford on Sunday.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Wolves, who sit 14th in the fledgling standings.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: October 2 (vs. Manchester United)

Aymeric Laporte is making strong progress in his recovery from a knee injury and completed his first full training session earlier this week, so there is hope that the centre-back may be fit to return for the Manchester derby following the international break.

Kyle Walker

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: September 17 (vs. Wolves)

Kyle Walker missed out against Dortmund with the injury he picked up against Aston Villa earlier this month, and the quick turnaround time makes it difficult to envisage the right-back recovering for Saturday's game.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no suspended players for this match.
