Platt receives two-match touchline ban

Manchester City's assistant coach David Platt has been handed a two-match suspension by UEFA.

The punishment relates to his conduct during City's 1-1 draw with Spanish side Real Madrid last time out in the Champions League.

He will now miss his side's next fixture with German champions Borussia Dortmund in December, plus their next game in UEFA competition.

The club have also been fined around £10,000 because they picked up more than five yellow cards during the clash with Real.

City have already been knocked out of the Champions League, but victory over Dortmund could potentially see them qualify for the Europa League.
