Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Porto

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Porto

Manchester City can secure a first-place finish in Champions League Group C when they travel to the Estadio do Dragao to take on Portuguese champions Porto on Tuesday evening.

The Citizens boast a 100% record in the 2020-21 tournament ahead of their penultimate group-stage encounter, with Pep Guardiola already looking ahead to the knockout stages after City confirmed qualification for the next round last week.

The four-time Premier League winners eased to a 3-1 victory over Porto in matchweek one last month, and Guardiola's men produced a five-star performance to hammer Burnley at the weekend, with Riyad Mahrez scoring a hat-trick for his side against the Clarets.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's showdown with Porto.

Nathan Ake

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: December 1 (vs. Porto)

Nathan Ake is yet to make his return to action from the hamstring injury he picked up on international duty with the Netherlands. The centre-back played no part against Burnley but is believed to have fully recovered now, so he should be in contention to feature against Porto.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: December 1 (vs. Porto)

Guardiola confirmed that Sergio Aguero has suffered a minor setback with his knee injury, which flared up and prevented him from adding to City's goal rout at the weekend. As of Monday, the prolific Argentine has not made his return to training and is a major doubt for the trip to Porto.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no players suspended for their showdown with Porto.
