Yoann Gourcuff staying at Lyon

Yoann Gourcuff will not be leaving Lyon during the January transfer window, according to club president Jean-Michel Aulas.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

"Yoann Gourcuff will not leave the team," said Aulas. "The newspapers are getting it wrong.

"We need him and to add for the Champions League. And if he stays he can use his performances to get himself in the France team for the Euros."

Gourcuff moved to Lyon from Bordeaux in summer 2010 for around £18m.
