Yoann Gourcuff pleased with injury return

Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff has revealed that he felt no pain during his comeback from a two-month knee injury in last night's Coupe de la Ligue defeat to Nice.

However, the 26-year-old admitted that defeat made his return a bittersweet one.

"I didn't have pain in my knee," said Gourcuff. "That's the most important thing. I need to keep training with the team, playing games.

"I'm glad to be back. I worked for it. I am on the pitch because I am ready, at 100%. The injury is behind me, but I'm not satisfied because we lost 3-1."

Gourcuff has one goal from his two Ligue 1 games this season.
