Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Lyon vs. Marseille

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Lyon vs. Marseille.

Brest vs. Lens (Sunday, 12.00pm)

High-flying Lens will be hoping that they can consolidate their place in the top four of Ligue 1 with a victory away against Brest on Sunday.

The hosts have only won four of their 17 home league matches in 2021, while the visitors are looking to avoid a third successive away defeat.

We say: Brest 1-2 Lens

Lens claimed four points from a possible six in the two fixtures against Brest last season and they will be confident of securing another three on Sunday.

Brest themselves will have a spring in their step after two successive victories, though we expect the visitors to come away from the Stade Francis-Le Ble with a slender win.

Angers vs. Lorient (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Two Ligue 1 sides currently enduring difficult runs of form will lock horns at the Stade Jean-Bouin on Sunday as Angers host Lorient.

The visitors have failed to win any of their last six league games, while Angers are hoping to avoid a fifth successive top-flight match without a victory.

We say: Angers 1-1 Lorient

All four Ligue 1 victories in this fixture have been won by the home side, so this should provide Angers with some confidence, especially as they won the last meeting at the Stade Jean-Bouin.

However, there is little to separate these two out-of-form teams and so a score draw could be on the cards this weekend.

Metz vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Having come so close yet so far against Paris Saint-Germain last time out, Bordeaux travel to the Stade Saint-Symphorien to take on Metz in Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon.

While Les Girondins went down 3-2 to the capital outfit just before the international break, the hosts shared the spoils in a goalless stalemate with Marseille.

We say: Metz 1-1 Bordeaux

Metz's abysmal home record has to end at some point, but they are unlikely to experience much joy against a Bordeaux side who have had no problems finding the back of the net in recent weeks.

Strasbourg vs. Reims (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Strasbourg will be looking to claim their third successive home victory when they welcome Reims to the Stade de la Meinau for their Ligue 1 clash on Sunday.

The hosts have scored 17 goals in their seven home matches this season, more than any other team in the division, while the visitors have scored 10 goals fewer from their seven away games so far this term.

We say: Strasbourg 2-0 Reims

Even though Ajorque will be missing through suspension, Strasbourg still have plenty of firepower to cause problems in the final third this weekend.

The Racers have been in good form on home soil in recent weeks, while the visitors have struggled on the road during the same period, so a routine victory for the hosts is to be expected at the Stade de la Meinau.

Troyes vs. St Etienne (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Fresh from claiming their first win of the new Ligue 1 season, Saint-Etienne travel to newly-promoted Troyes on Sunday afternoon.

While the visitors prevailed 3-2 in an end-to-end showdown with Clermont, Troyes went down 4-0 to Lens in dismal fashion.

We say: Troyes 2-2 Saint-Etienne

Defensive deficiencies continue to bedevil Saint-Etienne and Puel, who will be forced into a major backline reshuffle, and the international break could not have come at a worse time for the visitors.

Clermont vs. Nice (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Clermont and Nice will both endeavour to return to winning ways during Sunday's Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied.

The newly-promoted hosts were stunned by Saint-Etienne in a 3-2 defeat before the international break, while Nice went down 1-0 to Montpellier HSC.

We say: Clermont 0-2 Nice

Clermont may sense a rare opportunity to get one over a Galtier-led side given Nice's mounting injury problems, and the hosts have proven to be far better defensively on home soil.

Lyon vs. Marseille (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Derby bragging rights are on the line during Sunday's Choc des Olympiques in Ligue 1 as Lyon welcome Marseille to the Groupama Stadium.

Peter Bosz's side were humbled in a 4-1 defeat to Rennes before the international break, while Les Olympiens were held to a goalless stalemate by Metz.

We say: Lyon 0-0 Marseille

Marseille will hope to see their affinity for draws become a thing of the past following the international break, but Sampaoli is under pressure to find the right formula for his side's attacking troubles.
