Werner: 'Klopp is the best coach in the world'

RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner has hailed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as "the best coach in the world".

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks, with the Reds reportedly willing to meet his £51m release clause.

Following Leipzig's 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League round of 16 first leg, Werner was quick to praise the Liverpool manager after the game.

Speaking to Sky Germany, Werner said: "Jurgen Klopp is the best coach in the world. There is much to suggest that I would fit in well with my style of play.

"But I don't think about that at the moment because we have so much to do with Leipzig. I won't rule out anything. We have the Euros in the summer, I want to focus on that tournament.

"Everything else I will think about after the season."

The German international was on target again for Julian Nagelsmann's side in their 5-0 thrashing of Schalke 04 on Saturday, bringing his tally to 21 goals in 23 league matches this season.
