Liverpool are reportedly in advanced talks with free agent centre-back Ezequiel Garay over a summer switch to Anfield.
The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving Valencia at the end of last season, ending a four-year spell with the Spanish side.
Garay has not played in more than a year, having sustained a cruciate ligament injury in February 2020 that brought an early end to his time at the Mestalla.
According to The Express, the former Argentina international is being eyed up by Liverpool as an option to further strengthen their backline.
The Reds brought in Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies in the January window, but Jurgen Klopp is said to be after a more experienced option to fill in.
Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all recovering from long-term injuries, but all three should be fit for the start of next season.
Garay, who was regularly linked with Manchester United during his time at Real Madrid a decade ago, is said to be open to joining a Premier League club.
