Report: Liverpool eye £40m deal for Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne

Liverpool are ready to spend £40m to bring Southampton duo Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana to Anfield this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly poised to spend £40m on a double swoop for Southampton duo Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has identified Lallana as one of his top transfer targets this summer following his outstanding season for the Saints, and is ready to spend £25m to bring him to Anfield.

The 41-year-old also wants to add Clyne to his squad to replace Glen Johnson - who is in the last year of his contract at the club – and Rodgers is hopeful that he can land the right-back in a deal worth £15m, reports the Daily Star.

Lallana has been with the Saints since the age of 12, while Clyne joined the club from Crystal Palace in 2012.
