Brian McDermott waxes lyrical about Thomas Ince, while also confirming that his Reading side have made a bid for the Blackpool attacker.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has admitted that Thomas Ince would be a positive addition to his squad.

The Blackpool attacker has long been linked with a switch to his former club Liverpool, who are believed to have had a number of offers rejected by the Championship club this month.

As a result, McDermott has now looked to beat Liverpool to the England youth international's signature by submitting a bid of his own.

"We are waiting for Blackpool to come back to us because we've made a bid. We shall see where that goes," he told Sky Sports News. "He's a Blackpool player so it is difficult for me to talk about players that don't belong to us.

"Just talking about the player aside and the quality he has got - he can play in the number 10 position, or out wide on the right or left. He's got fantastic feet and he loves his football. He can score and create goals and has got a real hunger about him.

"I wouldn't normally talk about a player that doesn't belong to us but he deserves a lot of credit for what he has achieved since he left Liverpool 18 months ago."

Reports have claimed that the Seasiders will demand £8m before they consider parting with the 20-year-old.
