Liverpool increase efforts to sign Lyon defender Emanuel Mammana?

Lyon defender Emanuel Mammana has reportedly emerged as a top transfer target for Liverpool.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on making several additions to his squad ahead of a campaign which he hopes will see the club return to the Champions League group stages.

According to The Sport Review, Klopp has decided to proceed with an offer of £14.9m for 21-year-old Mammana.

In the past, Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in the Argentine, who made a total of 24 appearances in all competitions last season.

Lyon remain in a strong position to keep hold of the South American, who still has four years remaining on his existing contract.
