Liverpool sign former Barcelona defender Juanma

Liverpool have completed the signing of former Barcelona defender Juanma.

The 19-year-old came through the ranks at the Spanish giants but never broke into the first team at Camp Nou before being allowed to leave the club.

Juanma has spent 10 days training with the Reds' Under-23 side this summer and is expected to stay with the youth team for the 2016-17 season.

"My time at Barcelona has ended. Thank you for those eight seasons. Life goes on," he wrote on Twitter.

The defender can play as either a centre-back or a left-back.
