Liverpool 'leading race for Geoffrey Kondogbia'

Liverpool reportedly lead the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia in January on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for £18.5m.

Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia during the January transfer window.

Kondogbia has started just seven Serie A games for the Nerazzurri so far this season and has only been on the winning side in two of those matches.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter are unhappy with the Frenchman's performances this term and as a result are willing to let him leave the club on loan in January, with an option to buy for £18.5m.

The report goes on to say that Liverpool are favourites to sign the midfielder as Jurgen Klopp looks to add to his squad in order to push for the Premier League title this season.

However, the Reds could face competition from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, who are also understood to be interested.
