Liverpool could move for Porto defender Jorge Fucile in January, according to the Daily Mail.
The £6m-rated full-back has been capped 34 times by Uruguay and has reportedly been recommended to the club by fellow international Luis Suarez.
Boss Kenny Dalglish is understood to be keen on adding defensive reinforcements in the New Year as he attempts to steer the club to a Champions League spot this season.
The 27-year-old has made 100 league appearances for Porto since joining in 2007.
