Liverpool transfer news: Reds among Premier League clubs 'tracking' £17m Chile attacker

Liverpool among PL clubs 'tracking' £17m Chile attacker

Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Chile winger Dario Osorio as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements this summer.

With the new Premier League season fast approaching, the Reds still appear short of depth in several areas and remain in the market for fresh additions.

Andoni Iraola is reportedly confident that Liverpool will add at least one player before the window closes, although the club may have to remain patient as negotiations continue.

It is no secret that strengthening the wide areas is a major priority, and Osorio has now emerged as another name on Liverpool's radar.

Liverpool eye move for Dario Osorio?

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are among a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Osorio during the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old is primarily a right-sided forward and has registered 23 goals and 18 assists in 117 appearances for FC Midtjylland.

Everton and Leeds United are also reportedly interested in the Chile international, while AC Milan remain firmly in the race for his signature.

Known for his pace and dribbling ability, Osorio is also capable of operating on either flank and has drawn comparisons with fellow Chilean Alexis Sanchez.

Midtjylland are reportedly prepared to sell for around £17m, making him a considerably cheaper alternative to some of Liverpool's other attacking targets.

Are Liverpool taking a big gamble in transfer market?

Liverpool remain heavily linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, but there is still a sizeable gap between what the Reds are prepared to pay and the French champions' asking price.

Agreeing personal terms is not believed to be an issue, while Barcola himself is reportedly open to a move to Anfield, yet the negotiations appear to have reached something of a standstill with time rapidly running out.

The Reds are also said to be interested in PSG's highly-rated Ibrahima Mbaye, although the price being quoted for the youngster is reportedly considered excessive.

In recent days, Liverpool have also been credited with an approach for Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Yankuba Minteh, further expanding an already lengthy list of potential targets.

Whether that reflects a deliberate attempt to keep several options open or a lack of clarity over their preferred solution remains open to debate, but with the window entering its decisive phase, Liverpool can ill afford to let another transfer pursuit drift without a clear outcome.
