Leeds United have completed the signing of highly-rated Spanish teenager Mateo Joseph Fernandez.
The 18-year-old forward has joined the club from Espanyol for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract which will expire in June 2025.
The Whites have announced that Fernandez will join up with Mark Jackson's Under-23s team, and he could be in line to make his debut against West Ham United's academy side on January 10.

Fernandez, who was born is Spain to British parents, has previously been linked with European giants Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester City; however, Leeds seems to have fended off stern competition to land the talented teenager.
The forward is yet to have made his professional debut, but he impressed for Espanyol's Under-19s side last season, scoring 14 goals in 21 matches.
Fernandez will now be hoping to impress in the academy setup at Leeds before breaking into Marcelo Bielsa's first-team squad.
